Play Inclusive 2019

Play Inclusive is a sports campaign where athletes with special needs and their unified partners can build friendship, understanding, and inclusion through shared sports experiences. Your role as a Unified Partner is to train and learn a new sport together with our athlete. Ensuring the athletes’ safety is priority but challenging them to improve their skills and teamwork is essential too.

(a) Able-bodied with an intellectual impairment of IQ 70 and below, our athletes are able to listen and understand instructions that are simple and require patient and constant encouragement.

(b) Sports offered:

  • Badminton (Doubles)
  • Basketball (3on3/Skills Challenge)
  • Floorball (3on3/Skills Challenge)
  • Football (5on5)

​(c) Competition Day at Singapore Sports Hub, OCBC Arena:

  • 24 August, Saturday (Badminton & Floorball)
  • 25 August, Sunday (Basketball & Floorball)

​(d) Training: Minimum of 8 sessions from now to August

  • Usually weekdays before 4pm
  • Suggested training – 6 sessions from June to July & 2 sessions in August
  • Venues: Ang Mo Kio/Eunos/Kovan/Hougang/Queenstown/Tampines (please refer to for exact training venue)

​(e) Highly recommended to take part with 1 or 2 more of your friends

(f) Preferably not national/school team player (to ensure equal playing opportunity)

(g) Special Olympics Singapore is able to provide testimonial after event
