Introduction to Web Development

This is a beginner course intended for participants eager to learn the fundamentals of Web Development.  Prior web development experience or knowledge is not required, only basic internet navigation skills and an eagerness to get started in web development.

 

Participants will be introduced to the core Web Development technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScrip, and be able to apply text, images, links, lists, and tables for navigation and layout.

 

This is a hands-on course where participants learn how to create web pages according to the standards set by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and follow the major steps involved in building a Web site, such as planning, design, development and implementation.

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn how to design and develop a webpage using HTML and CSS.
  2. Learn how to link pages so that they create a website.
  3. Design and develop a website using text, images, links, lists, and tables for navigation and layout.
  4. Style your page using CSS, internal style sheets, and external style sheets.
  5. Use the JavaScript to develop the basic dynamic webpages.

Duration:

5 sessions, 3 hours per session
