Jillian Terese Teo is currently at the University of Wollongong, Australia pursuing further education in psychological science. She is an alumna of the University of Wollongong’s Bachelor of Science (Psychology) programme,

Jillian entered SIM a fearful individual.

“It was at a time when I was afraid of the future and unsure if I was making the best decisions. And the pressure was great, because my parents were helping me finance my education and I did not want to take that for granted.”

Jillian saw how passionate and driven her peers were, and this influenced her greatly.

“Besides my studies, I love to dance, bake things, and spend time with my family and friends. My time in university gave me the opportunity to meet other students who were driven and passionate about the things they were doing. I was fortunate to have met like-minded individuals through groups like SIM DanceArt and the SIM GE Scholars’ Network.”

Jillian learnt to embrace opportunities and be humble enough to learn from others.

“If I could go back in time to speak to my 20-year-old self, I would tell myself to embrace more opportunities and make the most of my university experience to grow and learn from others.”
