In June 2025, SIM students took part in the H3 Vietnam Project under the Overseas Community Involvement Programme (OCIP). The trip was held in Tra Vinh, a village near Ho Chi Minh, and organised by Transformer, a subcommittee under the University of London Student Representative Club. Over two weeks, the team worked with the local community through teaching, cultural exchange, and construction.
Sharing Cultures in the Classroom
During lessons, students shared about Singapore’s heritage and food, such as Sultan Mosque, Chicken Rice and Laksa.
They also introduced traditional childhood games like five stones, colour sticks and country eraser. These simple activities helped to break the ice, and both groups enjoyed learning and laughing together.
Building the outdoor library space
Outside of the classroom, the team focused on building an outdoor library space. Tasks included laying concrete flooring, putting up walls and planting grass. The hot weather made the work challenging, but everyone supported one another and kept going. Completing the library was a proud moment for the team, knowing that it will be a useful space for the community. This trip was more than just volunteering. Through teaching and construction, students gained a better understanding of cross-cultural teamwork and how education can support community growth. Living among the locals also taught important lessons about humility, adaptability and respect. Even small contributions, when done with sincerity, can leave a lasting impact.

SIM International Affairs Society – Model United Nations (IAS-MUN) at NTUMUN 2025
The SIM International Affairs Society – Model United Nations (IAS-MUN) is proud to have broadened opportunities for its MUN trainees by facilitating their participation in the prestigious Nanyang Technological University Model United Nations (NTUMUN 2025) Conference. The event was held from 14 to 16 March 2025 at the NTU campus.
Organised by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Debating Society, NTUMUN 2025 offered an outstanding platform for student delegates to connect, engage in discussions, and collaborate on important global topics within a simulated United Nations setting. The event featured a diverse array of committees that tackled critical international issues through in-depth debate.
Building on the global exposure gained from previous international conferences, such as the Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN), IAS-MUN continues its commitment to nurturing the student delegates by strengthening representation at both local and international levels.
Over the years, insights brought back by past delegations and trainer teams have helped enhance IAS-MUN’s institutional knowledge and training standards. Participation in MUN conferences not only sharpens students’ diplomatic, research, and public speaking skills but also helps identify promising candidates for future international representation and training roles in IAS-MUN.
NTUMUN 2025 marked another milestone in this journey, with IAS-MUN delegates delivering a strong performance and receiving several accolades:
- Best Delegate – Simran Rajpal
- Outstanding Delegates (Double Delegation) – Aditya Hegade and Marcus Tan
- Honourable Mention – Iniyavan Sureshkumar
- Verbal Commendation – Mary Tok
(Note: While a Verbal Commendation is not a paper award, it is officially acknowledged during the conference and awards ceremony.)

InSIGHT 2025: Arkana — Unveil the Truth
InSIGHT 2025: Arkana — Unveil the Truth was InSIM’s annual musical, staged across 24 and 25 January 2025 at the SIM Performing Arts Theatre.
The production brought together student performers and creatives to tell a compelling story on stage, exploring themes of truth, identity, and hidden narratives through expressive performances and dramatic storytelling.
As the curtains closed, Arkana marked a powerful beginning to InSIGHT 2025 — a reflection of what student creativity can achieve when passion, collaboration, and collective effort come together on stage.
